My first visit to Switzerland was in 1986, traveling with my sister in a double-decker bus, which made the journey Geneva - Galicia,  full of Galicians returning to Spain to spend the summer holidays and it used to return empty. We made the trip in two stages, the first day we went from Ponferrada to Toulouse (France) and the second day we did Toulouse - Geneva.

Our visit to Switzerland was short and we just visited  the city of Geneva and the towns of Locarno, Ambri and Bellinzona, in the Italian canton of Ticino.

♦ 2005 This second trip to Switzerland was special because our little Carmen accompanied us, with only 8 months ... and behaved like a champion, as neither cried on the plane and  stoically endured the torture of the seat that Avis gave us for her.

El plan de viaje fue el siguiente:

Primer dia: Madrid - Ginebra

Segundo y tercer dia: Ginebra.

The travel plan was as follows:

First day: Madrid - Geneva

Second and third day: Geneva.

Fourth day: rent car and visited Lausanne, Vevey, Sierre (where we ate a fondue with nearly 30 º...) Simplonpass port, Domodosola (Italy) and arriving in Locarno.

Zurich, con parada y visita a Luzerna

Noveno día: Zurich - Berna

Decimo dia: Berna - Ginebra - Madrid.

Fifth, sixth and seventh day: Locarno. From here, we visited Lugano, Bellinzona, Ambri and Airolo, besides the city of Locarno and its surroundings.

Eighth day: Locarno - Zurich, with a stop and a visit to Lucerne

Ninth day: Zurich - Bern

Tenth day: Bern - Geneva - Madrid.

Highlighting the incredible heat we had to endure. True, it was the month of July ... but the fact remains that it was Switzerland !!!!. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the trip and our visit to each and every one of the cities.

Warming: despite the image we have of Switzerland as a country "chilly" ... nothing is further from reality: maybe because of climate change, but we've been too much heat in Switzerland.

Another little thing: The hotels in the cities are very expensive. It is advisable to go to internet and seek hotel on the city to visit or in some village nearby.

Car rental is much cheaper than in Spain. The fuel is more expensive but not much else. The food is quite expensive, even eating sandwich goes wrong. I always recommend to try the typical food of each country, but for those who look for a moderate price, you can search any of the self service MIGROS (available throughout Switzerland) or Manor Restaurant (which are the chain restaurants MANOR stores) that can be found in all Swiss cities

1 Dia: Vuelo Madrid - Zurich
2 Día: Gerlanfingen - Berna
3 Día: Cham - Basilea - Berna
4 Día: Lausanne - Ginebra
5 Día: Ginebra - Madrid

♦ 2008 My third trip  to Switzerland, for work. They were very intense five days for work, but we also had time to do some sightseeing; Although I visited a new city, it is true that most already knew. The itinerary was as follows:

1 Day: Flight Madrid - Zurich
2 Day: Gerlanfingen - Bern
3 Day: Cham - Basel - Bern
4 Day: Lausanne - Geneva
5 Day: Geneva - Madrid

Unlike what happened in my previous trips, we had stayed in hotels on the outskirts of cities or towns in the middle of the road, it absorbs everything Euro !!!!. Too much heat, although it is early May and the country, as always, is beautiful.
